GARBHADANA HOMAM

Garbhadana is the first ritual (samskara) out of 16 rituals (samskara)  (Shodasha Samskaras) this is the first ritual (samskara) performed immediately after the marriage. Actually, this ritual (samskara) is protected pregnancy (Gabha Raksha). The relationship of husband and wife is perceived as a divine relationship. On the day of the beginning of the actual physical relationship. ( On the day of the first night).

Tha Garbhadana homa performed for mutual trust and bondage during sexual activities with the couples, and enjoy life together, have good children, contribute to your family, society, and nation and earn Punya by following Grahastha Dharma. Garbhadana Homa will trigger the divinity and positive energy in newly married couples to have good health, good relationships,s and healthy children in their life.

The homa aims at getting the blessings of Lord Maha Vishnu. Tvashta, Prajapati, Dhata, Sineevalee, Saraswati, Ashwini devatas.

What are the rituals included in Garbhadana homa?

• Anujna (Getting the blessings of  elders and Veda pandits)
• Vighneshvara (Ganapati) pooja (to remove all obstacles)
• Maha Sankalpam (The prayer, asking about the needs of god or the purpose of the homa.)
• Shudhi Punyaha Vachanam – The Purification ritual (the ritual performed before the ceremony for the purification of the body, place, and pooja materials, Shudhi (purification) Mantras are chanted then mantra purified water is sprinkled over all the people participating, and the items.)
• Nandee Shradha  (taking the blessings of our ancestors (Pitru devatas)
